'The mudcake' was shot at Junta colony ( a slum on Chandigarh border but under Mohali) It was one after noon when i was shooting for a Fundraising Video film for a Local NGO DIR, which works for health promotion at Junta Colony, that i overheard a 'Happy birthday Jingle ' from one house'.I peeped over the boundary wall and saw a group of three kids playing with some thing and singing the song. I called one of them..other followed him..and i asked them ..what they were playing...! And i switched on my camera , and what followed is the film - 'The Mudcake'. Its a two minute film in Hindi with English subtitles . The film has no Technical strengths to boast of or special effects or animation or star cast, but it has a Content that no live heart on this earth can ignore..its about dreams..its about happiness ..its about Hunger ..its about ignorance its about negligence..and a lot more.
